I hired Casey as the Fight Director for a production of The Princess Bride, which involved students from Grades 9-12. I specifically wanted Casey because I needed her as a role model for the young female students. I had two girls in particular that needed to do a sword fight. I felt that having a female Fight Director would encourage and inspire the girls to perform at the best of their abilities. And I was right. But that was not just because Casey is a woman, but because she is a great teacher and role model. Also, having Casey served as a great role model for the young men: they saw that stage combat was not just a “boy” thing. – Mr. Chris Coculuzzi, Rosedale Heights School of the Arts
Casey’s work is superior on all counts. [She] is easy to work with, skilled, has a good eye, is reliable, safe, creative and an inspiration to her students. – Tim Veenstra, King’s University College
Yes we have a Fight Director: We use Casey and she brings realism, safety and technique to the performance. – Holy Trinity School
Would you employ Casey Again?
“Absolutely!!!!!!!! She has an excellent knowledge base appropriate for the grade level, extremely engaging as she combines an excellent sense of humour with a very strong, safe knowledge base. We hope to use her every year as a member of our arts team!” – Mrs. Bernadette T-Dohla, Baythorn Public School
“My experience working with Casey has been nothing but positive. She is an excellent teacher and knows how to work to my strengths. She explains things so well and with such precision that she takes me from being good in a fight to being bad-ass which is essential for a show like Lost Girl. She is also one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of working with.” – Anna Silk, lead actress on Lost Girl
